The semi-final line-up is now known at the World Indoor Singles Championship, at Potters, and Scottish qualifier Stewart Anderson is the 11-10 (Betfred, Stan James) favourite to lift the title, with fifth seed
GREG HARLOW hot on his heels at 13-8 with Stan James.
Harlow's City of Ely clubmate Nick Brett is 8-1 and Devon's Robert Paxton completes the quartet also at 8-1 (both Boylesports) following his victory over 16th seed Jonathan Ross.
I fancied the chances of Cambridgeshire bowler Harlow before the tournament started at a best price of 9-1 and I still think he's the man to back following his superb win over Paul Foster, a man who has won this event three times in the past.
Harlow insisted afterwards he had never bowled so well at Potters before in his life and he looked like a man possessed on the blue rink and he should see off former postman Paxton on Saturday and my advice is to back him now as he'll be a much shorter price on Sunday.
The baby-faced star reached the final of this tournament back in 2006, losing to local hero Mervyn King, and the only possible obstacle in his way to a first ever world crown looks to be Scottish sensation Anderson.
Bowls has a new star in the understated 24-year-old who has beaten the likes of five-time world champion Alex Marshall and 1990 winner John Price to reach the last four and he fears no-one, make no mistake about that. He has a tough clash with Brett, but he's totally on fire and it looks all geared up to be an Anderson v Harlow final.
I can't even make the argument that the big occasion may faze Anderson as he's probably the most laid-back player on the circuit and not bothered by anything going on around him. He displayed his potential by getting to the semis of the Scottish International Open, where he lost on a tie-break to eventual winner Foster, and with that sort of experience behind him he will be a hard man to beat.
But I prefer Harlow mainly due to the way he played against Foster and if he can keep that up then he finally win the one crown he has been desperate to get his hands on.
