JOHN PRICE ruled the roost in the bowls world and the veteran Welshman can defeat another fellow countryman in Jason Greenslade at Potters today in the World Indoor Singles.
Price has proved a tough opponent over the years with his tenacity being his main asset and despite dropping out of the world's top 16, he is still playing like a man possessed, even more so after losing his seat at the top table. He ousted 10th seed Robert Weale last time out and there isn't really much to choose between him and seventh seed Greenslade.
Music-loving Greenslade has not had much to cheer about over the course of the past year or so with a number of early departures from tournaments blighting his progress and despite beating a tricky player in Brett Wilkie last time out, I can see him falling at the wayside again here.
Today's other match sees fifth seed GREG HARLOW up against Aussie teenager Ben Twist, who dumped Scottish Open runner-up Ian Bond out of the competition last week, but despite making headlines with two stunning wins, Twist will not have enough about him to get past Tour veteran Harlow.
The Cambridgeshire man is only 1-3 (various) to progress, but sums up the difference in quality between the two players and he should come through with flying colours.
