The Foxhunters is the amateur riders Gold Cup and the highlight of the hunter chase season with many of the big stables having representatives in what usually proves to be a fiercely competitive contest.
Horses aged 10 or under are the ones to focus on according to the stats, which reveal that 17 out of the last 19 winners met the criteria.
Favoruites don’t have a particularly good record in the race with six of the last nine winners starting at 14-1 or higher, however last year’s winner Cappa Bleu was one of the best backed horses of the meeting when scoring at 11-2.
