Reigning champ Imperial Commander would also become just the second 10-year-old to win in the last 18 years should he successfully retain his crown.
At the other end of the scale, Nicky Henderson's King george winner Long Run would be the youngest winner since Mill House in 1963.
However that stat is slightly misleading as only three horses of his age have actually competed in the event.
The big stat that Long Run does have in his favour is that 8 of the last 11 winners contested the King George which he won very impressively by 12 lengths.
