Milton Of Campsie has not won for two years and has been running way below par this season, but there is little doubt she has become very well treated if bouncing back and looks worth a small each-way interest at 18/1 in the 8.50 at Wolverhampton.
The mare landed a hat-trick at in 5 and 6f contests two years years ago when trained by John Balding, and she is now 9lbs lower than her last win at Ayr.
Now in the care of Richard Guest, the six-year-old shaped far better than her finishing position suggest three outings ago at Hamilton when coming 7th of 10 to Tangalooma.
She showed plenty of dash at the Scottish track before weakening and drifting badly a furlong from home in the soft ground.
It's disappointing that she has failed to build on that effort in her last two starts, but the switch to the artificial surface is an interesting move which could see her in far better light and hopefully bring about a much improved showing.
Her handler also has has a pretty good strike rate at the track, and from a good draw in stall 4 she could surprise.
If she does come back to anywhere near her best, then the current 18/1 on offer will look huge.
Recommended bet: 2pts each-way Milton Of Campsie (18/1 Boylesports, Hills - BOG)
