The unexposed Jack Of Diamonds looks overpriced at 12/1 in the finale at Ascot (5.35) and makes plenty of each-way appeal.
Roger Teal's colt has caught the eye in both his starts to date, none more so than when a strong finishing third at Kempton 12 days ago.
Slowly away that day, the son of Red Clubs finished with a real rattle from way off the pace to finish a never nearer 3 length third to Venetian view and went into my notebook as a sure fire winner in waiting.
Although the way he finished that day over the 7f trip suggested that he may need further to be seen at his best, I am not totally convinced that will be the case as he comes from a very speedy family.
I think that today's 6f trip and stiff finish should suit him ideally, and there is little doubt in my mind that he has plenty more to offer.
