Summer Dancer is not the easiest to win with, but there is little doubt he is handicapped to go in again and at 11/2 looks an each-way steal in the 3.20 Musselburgh.
Paul Midgley's gelding is now 5lb lower than when scoring at Beverley last May of a mark of 76, and having performed creditably off a mark of 80 looks very well treated in this off just 71.
He has put in solid efforts in his last three starts, starting off with a staying on third to Greensward offf 73 at Kempton.
The winner scored in good style at chester yesterday, and the form looks solid.
He then came a close up sixth of 12 to Kakapuka when returned to that track before really catching the eye on his latest start at Beverley.
Heavily backed into 9/2 favourite day, he raced keenly towardsthe rear before making stealthy late headway to finish just over a 4 length 5th of 14 to Shotley Mac.
It was a run which suggested he would be back in the winners'enclosure sooner rather than later, and today's contest looks a golden opportunity for him to take advantage of his lenient handicap mark.
Ideally suited by a strong pace, he looks sure to get that this afternoon with the likes of free running Cara's Request in the line-up, and if Russ Kennemore can get him settled early there is little doubt in my mind he is the one they all have to beat.
Another plus is that his trainer is in fine form at present and he has course and distance winning form.
Everything is in place for a huge run, and at 11/2 he looks excellent value.
Recommended bet: 3pts each-way Summer Dancer (11/2 generally available - BOG firms)
