Not the best renewal of the Middle Park at newmarket today (2.35) and French raider Family One looks an outstanding bet at 11/2.
He is yet to to finish out of the first 2 and showed he was a classy type with victories in the the Group 3 Prix du Bois and Group 2 Prix Robert Papin.
However it is his form when runner-up in the Group 1 Prix Morny at Deauville on his latest start that makes him the one they all have to beat this afternoon.
He was beaten 3 lengths by Dabarism that day, and had had some classy type in Sofast and Frederick Engles behind.
The winner went on to put up the best performance by a two-year-old I have seen all season when showing a devastating turn of foot to land the Group 1 Prix Jean-Luc Lagardere at Longchamp on Arc day.
If Dabarism was in this field he would be long odds-on, and even though family One was beaten 3 lengths by him it is an outstanding bit of form which I feel puts him head and shoulders above today's rivals.
There is no doubt that Bapak Cinta is unexposed and has plenty more to offer, but he doesn't have form in the book to match Family One who sets a very high standard.
Most of the other runners - such as Caspar Netscher - are solid above average types but I don't think that they would be able to get within 3 lengths of Dabarism.
To me the bookies have underestimated Family One's credentials, and at 11/2 with Betfred he looks an each-way steal.
Recommended bet: 3pts each-way Family One (11/2 Betfred - BOG 1/4 odds 1,2,3)
