There's only 101 days and counting before the World Cup gets underway.
Wednesday's friendlies are unlikely to give us too many genuine indicators of what will follow in South Africa - despite some attractive fixtures taking place.
Betfair have Spain as 9/2 favourites to lift the trophy ahead of Brazil (5/1) and England (6/1).
Wayne Rooney, in red-hot form for Manchester United, is 10/1 favourite to win the Golden Shoe with the online firm with Spain strikers Fernando Torres and David Villa next best at 13/1.
Betfair are flagging up long shots Michael Owen at 139/1 to be top scorer and South Africa to win it on home soil at 129/1 but neither bet makes any appeal whatsoever.
Betfair spokesman Mike Robb said: “England fans always back their team with their wallets and so there’s no surprise that Betfair punters are backing England, and Rooney, to go all the way and win the World Cup.
"The John Terry affair seems to have had no impact on the betting, with customers still queuing up to back our boys."
