About Peter Scudamore MBE
Former eight times champion jockey Peter Scudamore, known universally as "Scu", received an MBE for his services to the sport of horse racing.

When he retired in 1993 he had ridden 1,678 winners including two Champion Hurdles on Celtic Shot and Granville Again when he was stable jockey to Martin Pipe.

In 1998-99 he set a new record of 221 winners in a season when smashing Jonjo O’Neill’s 149 winners in a single campaign.

He is now assistant trainer at Lucinda Russells’ Arlary House stables in Kinross, Perth, and has helped his partner become the leading Scottish NH trainer in the country.

He is also heavily involved with his son Michael’s yard in Herefordshire which is enjoying its most successful season ever. Scu will be providing a daily tip for Punt in Play plus a weekly round-up of what’s happening on the national hunt scene.
